HONEYMOON IN LANZAROTE WITH HOOPOE VILLAS

What do you think about a romantic holiday on an island? Perhaps a honeymoon in Lanzarote might just be the best idea! During your honeymoon in Hoopoe Villas Lanzarote you can visit beautiful beaches, explore the fascinating lunar landscapes and cultural sites of the island and spend many romantic hours on the private terrace of our villas. Like all Canary Islands, Lanzarote is an attractive travel destination all year round due to its climate.

Attractions

A volcano tour is a must if you decide to pass your holiday in Lanzarote. In addition to the unreal landscapes in the Timanfaya National Park, the fabulous views over the entire national park from the panoramic windows of the El Diablo restaurant is impressive. There, the dishes are all prepared on a volcano grill, which is only powered by the heat of the earth.

From this point we continue to El Golfo, a small fishing village on the edge of which the green lagoon can be admired. Furthermore, you can taste various wines in the nearby wine-growing region of La Geria – the Malvasia wine is especially recommended here.

You should also visit Jameos del Agua and the Cueva de los Verdes in the north of the island. Both sights belong to a lava tunnel with a widely ramified cave system, which arose from the eruptions of the La Corona volcano. Both the Cueva de los Verdes and Jameos del Agua can be visited with a guided tour during the day, but both volcanic caves are used as venues for various music events in the evenings due to the impressive acoustics.

See here and here some tips for various activities that you should definitely include in your honeymoon in Lanzarote.

Relax

Honeymooners who prefer cool water instead of hot volcanic rocks will find numerous beautiful beaches on Lanzarote. These were often artificially created so that they entice you to sunbathe with their light, fine sand. The island’s natural beaches, on the other hand, are primarily covered with the dark volcanic sand which is typical of the island. Honeymooners can spend many romantic hours on these fantastic beaches.

Arts and Culture

Those interested in culture don’t miss out on Lanzarote either. There are numerous museums and cultural centers on the island:

  • The Foundation and Museum Cesar Manrique – an influential Lanzarote artist who left a lasting mark on the island through his numerous works of art and monuments.
  • The Museum of Contemporary Art. In the middle of Arrecife harbor bay is the Castillo de San José situated, a fortress built between 1776 and 1779. Today it houses the Museo Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo – the International Museum of Contemporary Art. The building has thus become a comfortable retreat where you can enjoy the art, the view of the harbor and the museum restaurant.
  • Ethnographic museums in San Bartolomé “Museo Tanit” and Tiagua “El Patio”. In both ethnological museums you can learn a lot about the history of the island, their customs and traditions.
  • Museo de Timple in Teguise. The Timple Museum is located in the Palacio de Spínola, in the historic center of the former island capital of Teguise. This emblematic place houses a museum dedicated to one of the instruments that represents the Canary Islands like no other: the timple.
  • Wine Museum El Grifo. The Wine Museum is located in a wine cellar built in 1775. Part of the exhibition dedicated to the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century are the presses, the wine cellar, destemmers, bottling pumps, alembics, etc. You can also taste delicious wines from their own vineyards and take them home as a souvenir.
  • Casa Jose Saramago. The Nobel Prize winner for literature defined his house as “a house made of books”: in the last years of his life it served as a place of refuge, inspiration and rest. Today, his home is open to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in its essence.

Gastronomy

Honeymooners who want to enjoy typical Canarian cuisine should look for restaurants that are a little further away from the tourist centers. The best thing to do is to ask the locals for insider tips. Likewise, one should not leave the island without having tasted one of the delicious wines – especially the Malvasia. Find a detailed guide to the local cuisine here.

But if you think about it carefully, the question arises: why wait for the honeymoon? Surprise your loved one with a very special gift: a stay at Hoopoe Villas in Lanzarote!
