Discover the secret corners of Lanzarote

Let yourself be enchanted by the beauty and diversity of Lanzarote and discover picturesque places, fantastic beaches and bays, first-class restaurants and beautiful nature.

La Playa de Atrás

Located in the north of Lanzarote, the Playa de Atrás is the perfect beach for those reliable ones looking for an ideal surfing spot. With a length of 300 meters, it is characterized by its strong currents and winds, making it an ideal place for this water sport. Although it is not recommended to swim in it due to the strong currents, it is worth strolling along the beach. The beach is not frequented by many tourists – excellent for relaxing or spending some time on your own while enjoying the surroundings.

Lagomar

According to legend, the actor Omar Sharif fell in love with a house while filming “Mysterious Island” in Lanzarote. The Egyptian native bought it and the next day he returned it right away, using it in a card game as a win.

The winner of the bet was his own real estate agent, who was also European Bridge Champion. After that, Sharif never returns to the island.

How much of this story is real and what was invented to attract tourists is still not clear. Whether the legend is true or not, the house exists and the entire design bears the signature of César Manrique.

The Lagomar features winding staircases, carefully decorated interiors, and numerous secret passages. It is an enchanting and at the same time curious sight.

El Bosquecillo (= grove)

This place is a must if you are a hiking or trekking lover. El Bosquecillo is a beautiful place to enjoy local nature. You can also find a picnic area and a playground for children.

To get there you have to drive towards Haría, from where the trail starts. For three hours you will cross impressive places such as the Valle del Paso and the Barranco de Elvira Sánchez.

Furthermore, once reached the Bosquecillo, you will find the viewpoint of the Famra reef, which offers you one of the best views of the entire island.

Mirador El bosquecillo over Famara beach

Viewpoint Famara Reef

This viewpoint offers a magnificent view over the sea and the surrounding landscape. The Mirador del Risco de Famara is located on the highest point of the Famara reef, more than 400 meters above sea level. Especially at sunset the view is spectacular. The last part from the main road you will drive over a dirt road, just follow the signs to get to the viewpoint.

Playa de Janubio

Between the salt pans and Los Hervideros lies Janubio Beach.

The sea here is usually stormier and the water colder than, for example, on the Papagayo beaches. The bubbling spray laps the rocks of the low cliffs, so swimming here is not really recommendable.

This beach is particularly recommended for a long evening walk or a romantic picnic. When the sun slowly sinks into the sea, a colorful natural spectacle is presented.
