Museo César Manrique (Haría)
The Casa-Museo César Manrique (César Manrique House Museum) is located in the north of the island, in the midst of a picturesque palm grove in Haría. The artist started renovating this former farmhouse in 1986, making it his home until his death in 1992. A visit offers an encounter with the most intimate aspects of the artist’s life.
Wine Museum El Grifo (La Gería)
The Wine Museum is located in the primitive bodega, whose covered press was built in 1775.
It contains the press, bodega, cask workshop, stemming space, transfer pumps, stills, all elements from the XIX and early XX centuries.
Agriculture Mueseum El Patio (Tiagua)
El Museo Agrícola El Patio (El Patio Agricultural Museum) is located in the small, welcoming village of Tiagua (Teguise). It is housed in one of the oldest (1845) and largest farmhouses in Lanzarote. This valuable legacy of the past invites visitors to explore the agricultural and architectural traditions of the island. Furthermore, in its small tavern you can taste and buy the farm’s own wines and goat’s cheeses.
Ethnographic Museum Tanit (San Bartolomé)
The Museo Etnográfico Tanit (Tanit Ethnographic Museum) is located in the centre of the island. Specifically, it is situated in the municipality of San Bartolomé, in one of the island’s oldest wineries that forms part of a mansion dating to the 18th century. The Museum is home to a complete sample of the ethnographic heritage of Lanzarote, and a visit to the space will enable you to get to know the history of the island’s inhabitants and their folklore and traditions in depth.
Internacional Museum for Contemporary Art, Castillo San José (Arrecife)
The Castillo de San José, a fortress built between 1776 and 1779, is located in the heart of Arrecife’s port. It is currently home to the Museo Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo and provides a pleasant setting for the enjoyment of the art, the views and its restaurant service.
Piracy Museum (Teguise)
Towards the middle of the 15th century, the Castle of Santa Bárbara was built on the peak of the Guanapay Volcano (Teguise) in order to protect Lanzarote from the pirate invasions that the island suffered. Today the fortress is used as an exhibition space, a museum that tells the history of piracy itself.
Monumento al Campesino Museum (San Bartolomé)
In the geographical heart of Lanzarote, at an important crossroad from which any point of the island can be reached, stands one of the most important works by César Manrique, and the one most loaded with symbolic references: the architectural complex of the Casa-Museo del Campesino y Monumento a la Fecundidad (House-Museum of the Farmer and the Monument to Fertility).
Casa Museo del Timple, Palacio Espinola (Teguise)
La Casa – Museo del Timple (Timple Museum – House) is located in the Palacio de Spínola (Spínola Palace), in the heart of the historic quarter of the town of Teguise. This emblematic space houses a museum dedicated to one of the most iconic instruments of the Canary Islands: the timple.
